Star producer Dil Raju who is a huge name in Tollywood has gone to Kollywood and bankrolled a gigantic project with Thalapathy Vijay titled 'Varisu'. This complete family entertainer got dubbed into Telugu as 'Varasudu' and it was released on 14th January in the Telugu states. While the original Tamil version hit the screens on 11th January, the Telugu dubbed version released three days later due to big releases like 'Veera Simha Reddy' and 'Waltair Veerayya'.

Vijay's film met with a thunderous response in Tamil Nadu as expected. Knowing the 'Sarkar' hero's craze, getting hundreds of crores is a common thing and the movie did decently well in the Telugu states as well. Thanks to Dil Raju's grand release of the movie, it got good collections at the box office despite the mixed talk. Directed by Vamsi Paidipally, the movie is blamed for its regular story and predictable narration. But Vijay's screen presence and emotions made the movie a commercially successful venture.

In order to celebrate the success, producer Dil Raju reportedly arranged a grand party in his house for the entire team of 'Varisu'. This party is going to be attended by the movie's lead actor Vijay and it is going to be in Hyderabad. Vijay never promotes his films either in Tamil or Telugu. All he does is attend the pre-release event and he doesn't attend interviews or other promotional activities. But he is going to attend the grand party organized by his partner in Hyderabad as per sources. This is making his fans quite excited.

Thaman is the music director while Rashmika Mandanna is the heroine in this flick. Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Srikanth, Shaam, Yogi Babu, Sangeetha and Samyuktha are the prominent cast of 'Varisu'. Vamshi Paidipally along with Hari and Ashishor Solomon wrote the story. Karthick Palani is taking care of the cinematography, wherein KL Praveen is the editor.
