Akkineni Nagarjuna after a series of disasters and experiments post Ragada, decided to stay away from masala genre after his biggest disaster, Bhai. He did only family entertainers and the most massy character he did in years is Bangarraju in Soggade Chinni Nayana.
The movie became a huge blockbuster and earned twice the investment. With such a huge success, Nag wanted to continue the character and make it into a franchise. But he did not like the sequel story and it is still in the making. But few news reports suggested that Kalyan Krishna, the writer-director, has decided to take the character to Ravi Teja, who can also do a justice to such energetic character.
Well, the director denied all such developments and revealed, "Bangarraju will always be Nagarjuna. In fact, for me he is Bangarraju. I can't think of anybody in his character and we are developing the sequel story as we speak. He did not like the first version of it so we are trying out another. In the mean time, I did talk to Ravi Teja about a possible film but that story is completely different. It is a complete comedy and I might make that movie as soon as Ravi Teja is ok with the character and script without any doubts," said the young director.
