Nizam is considered as the biggest market for Telugu films and the theatrical rights of movies are sold for very high rates in this region. As it is known, Dil Raju owns a major chunk of theatres and there are a few who claim that there is a monopoly of the star producer in this area. Most of the big films were bought and released by him.
As we know, he bought the theatrical rights of two big pan-Indian releases 'RRR' and 'KGF â 2'. Rajamouli's gigantic film got over 100 crores in the Nizam area alone and 'KGF â 2' is also inching towards heavy profits. Dil Raju has benefitted heavily from these movies. 'RRR' has completed one month of its release and 'KGF â 2' was released two weeks back.
Apparently, Warangal Sreenu has bought the Nizam area rights of Megastar's 'Acharya'. There are rumors that Dil Raju had blocked some main screens for 'RRR' and 'KGF â 2' even now which is not allowing 'Acharya' to have a grand release in the Nizam area. As both the big films have had a great run at the box office, the collections have gone down drastically but reports suggest that Dil Raju is still keeping those films on many screens which is irking Warangal Sreenu.
This dispute has happened between these two distributors previously too and insiders say that they are at loggerheads again. We need to wait and see what happens in the next few days.
