Religious elements and sentiments are highly injurious for a movie release in our country. Either you end on the receiving end of a controversy or you be the subject of hatred of many religious institutions just like Mani Ratnam with Bombay and Kamal Hasan with Vishwaroopam.

But these days due to highly sensitive censor board many films are finding it difficult to have a release cause of certification issues. Another movie after Udta Punjab that suffered major consequences is the movie, Lipstick under my Burkha. Prakash Jha directed the movie and he did not accept the cuts and an implicated ban that censor board on the movie. He went to the tribunal and got an A certificate for the movie.

As social media gave him good support in the matter, he thanked them. Now, even from within the industry he got a big support. Ekta Kapoor of Balaji films decided to help the producer in releasing the movie and she even claimed that she liked the movie. She said it is an important film about women and not religion. She decided to take the release formalities under her wing and the movie is all set for a release on 28th July.
