The Corona virus pandemic has left us all in a lockdown. The demand for content on TV, OTTs has surged double the need and all the platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney Hotstar are desperately adding content to help their audience by running back mainstream filmmakers.
In Bollywood, almost all the small films have released on Amazon Prime recently. The sudden lockdown has left the producers of the film just with one option and that is- sell it to OTT!
India'smost subscribed OTT giant Amazon Prime is on a streaming spree. After the surprise announcement of the release date of Shoojit Sircar's 'Gulabo Sitabo'. Now, Amazon Prime has announced that they are going to release many films in the coming months and thus tweeted all the release posters and announcements.
Starting with Tamil Film 'Ponmagal Vandal' (May 29) Hindi film Gualabo Sitabo (June 12), Tamil Film Penguin (June 19), Kannada Film 'LAW '(June 26), French Biriyani (July 24). Malayalam Film Sufiyum Sujathayum and Hindi Film Shakuntala Devi release dates are to be announced.
Interestingly all the above film except Gulabo Sitabo do not have the big stars who make fans hooked to this streaming giant in this hour of entertainment need.
Moreover, Subscribers on Social Media are furious on Amzon Prime India for not releasing any update on their favourite Web Series titles Breathe and Mirzapur who helped the OTT giant get some subscribers and fan base in India.
The series fans are literally sulking over the constant ignoring attitude of the streaming platform. It remains to be seen if theplatform mends their ways and comes up with interesting updates for the die-hard followers!
