FIR Against The Makers Of Amazon Prime's 'Tandav'

Saif Ali Khan's latest web series Tandav, which was released on Amazon Prime Video on Saturday, has come under fire for allegedly portraying Hindu gods in a negative light. In just a day of its release, the Amazon Prime Video's new web series has caused a great deal of controversy on the Internet.

An FIR has been lodged against the series director, producer and writer at Hazratganj police station of Lucknow late on Sunday night. Earlier, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry had summoned Amazon Prime Video officials in India in connection with the controversy around the web series.

As per reports, the 17th minute of the first episode, showed characters playing Hindu gods and goddesses in an objectional way.

The FIR against Amazon India original content head Aparna Purohit, show Director Ali Abbas Zafar, Producer Himanshu Krishna Mehra, Writer Gaurav Solanki and others has been registered under sections 153 A, 295, 505 (1) (B) and 469 along with sections of the IT Act.
