When the experts and WHO are warning India to be prepared for the third wave of Covid, India reported the first case of double infection. The Northeast region reported the case.
As per the reports, a lady doctor from Assam was found infected with Delta and Alpha variants of the novel Coronavirus. She was found positive for two variants when she underwent a Covid test.
Assam's Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) nodal officer Dr Biswajyoti Borkakoty spoke to the media over the development and said when the last doctor was tested for Covid, she was found positive for two variants of the virus
Saying that she has mild symptoms of the virus which doesn't require any hospitalisation, the nodal officer said that the doctor was administered with two doses of vaccination
The nodal officer said that the doctor's sample was tested not just once but twice to confirm the infection. Both the test results confirmed the same that he has tested positive for two variants.
While she was infected by Delta and Alpha variants, her husband has tested positive for the Alpha variant Covid.
