Four policemen were Wednesday injured in a landmine blast in Jharkhand's Latehar district, police said.

According to police, a landmine blew up under a jeep carrying five policemen near Patki jungle, which falls under the Manika police station of Latehar district, around 130 km from here.

The police jeep was escorting former state police chief V.D. Ram's vehicle.

Maoist guerrillas Monday detonated a landmine blast in the same district. Two police jeeps carrying 11 policemen had a close shave in the blast.

Maoists are active in 18 of the 24 districts of the state.
