Telugu Cinema has been evolving from 1950's ever since heroes started becoming stars and matinee idols. During the starting days, hero and heroine used to not even touch each other's little finger.

Slowly, the intimate scenes on screen started changing as Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar movies also started releasing in Telugu regions and Tamil areas.

To bring something new to screen and hint at romance, directors started using flowers and some other creative censor objects to hint that hero is kissing the heroine.

Slowly, it started evolving even further that the hero used to kiss heroine directly on cheeks and hands but on lips, it is used to be hinted at.

But Geethanjali team, shot the direct lip kiss scene in such an artistic way that people started encouraging it on screens. With some western influence on new directors in 90's, Telugu Cinema started using bold scenes for publicity.

How intense they are? That much popular movie used to get. While B-grade and softcore intimate movies used to drop such posters every other week, mainstream cinema did not make it a regularity.

Today, for Arjun Reddy, RX100, Geetha Govindam and many new films, kiss scenes have become the biggest publicity campaign launchers and posters.

There were days when Arerere Ettago unnadi ollami song from Dasara Bullodu used to be considered obscene by parents and today, even TV shows refer to intimate scenes in a funny way.

Art will always evolve according to the changing generations and mindset. Today, young generations has been exposed to western and more bold films on a regular basis.

So, to catch up with the change in their taste, filmmakers are trying to make bold scenes their greatest publicity tool. But the trend is quite harmful as the line between B-Grade films and artistic mainstream films is decreasing by every year.
