Megastar Chiranjeevi is all set to fight the Dasara race with his upcoming Godfather film. The political thriller is slated for a grand release tomorrow on the eve of the Dasara festival. Ahead of the release, director Mohan Raja gave an interview to a popular channel and shared some interesting details about GodFather.
One of the reasons behind the good buzz around GodFather is Bollywood Bhaijaan Salman Khan playing a cameo in the Megastar starrer. Looking at the trailer, we can say that Salman Khan is playing someone who can go to any extent to protect Chiranjeevi. When Chiranjeevi is in trouble he shows up.
Salman Khan's role made Mega fans draw a comparison with a small cameo played by Powerstar Pawan Kalyan in Shankar Dada Zindabad. When the goons attack Chiranjeevi and he won't attack back due to Gandhi Giri, Pawan Kalyan shows up and says he won't spare anyone who attacks Chiranjeevi.
A few mega fans felt that it would be good if Pawan Kalyan might have played the role played by Salman Khan. Fans felt that if not for Pawan Kalyan, any Mega hero would have been good. This debate reached none other than director Mohan Raja and he was asked a question on the same.
In his response, director Mohan Raja said that the cameo role is supposed to give big elevations and speak highly about Chiranjeevi's role and it would not be that great to see a Mega family hero playing the role.Giving more details, Mohan Raja said that while the team was looking for a suitable star to play the role Salman Khan's name popped up.
The director said that Salman Khan shares a special bonding with the Mega family and this also played a big role in picking Salman. Chiranjeevi called Salman for the role and initially, Salman doubted if the role is a negative one. After saying the role is a positive one, he accepted it. Having accepted the cameo, Salman Khan reached the sets and finished his role, Mohan Raja said.
