Several interesting discussions are taking place in the ongoing Hyderabad Literature Festival.  There was a discussion on the topic of 'Meaningful Cinema'.. Prakash Raj and Nandini Reddy participated in the discussion.  Both reached the venue half an hour late but their speeches mesmerized the people present at the venue.  Nandini Reddy said that meaningful cinema comes from literature. She said that "There are no movies based on the literature these days. Most of the film makers of this generation watch movies extensively..but they are not at all reading books at the minimum level also. Film makers used to inspire from literature and make movies earlier.  If you ask any present generation film maker now... 'What do you read.?' they will give you a expression as if..'Is there any need for me to read books?'.

When Prakash Raj was asked the question.. Why other kind films will not reach audience as if commercial movies do?, he answered that "Young film makers are of the opinion that.. if they make meaningful movies.. they will not run and they can nor earn money".  Nandini
Reddy added that "Meaningful cinema means..a song or some message in the movie should haunt us even after coming out of the theater.
