Good News for Theatre owners, TS government gives green signal for 100% Occupancy

Update: 2021-02-05 09:28 GMT
The theatres and multiplexes across the country which were forced to shut during the Lockdown period were permitted to resume their operations with 50 percent occupancy under the unlock guidelines.

As a piece of good news for the theatre owners and film industry that faced severe losses with the pandemic, the central government gave its nod to allow 100 percent occupancy in cinema halls and multiplexes barring the containment zones.

The central government has issued the guidelines on 11 percent occupancy in the last week and left the option of whether to permit or not permit the theatres with full occupancy to the governments of the respective states.

Following this, the Telangana government led by Chief Minister KCR has decided to allow the theatres and multiplexes in the state with full occupancy.

In the Government Order(G.O), the state government permitted the movie theatres to go ahead with the full occupancy, as announced by the central government, reports claimed.

Tollywood filmmakers got a massive ray of hope with the theatre response for the films that were released for the Pongal season. Even with 50 percent occupancy, the films reached break-even and earned few profits.

The decision on 100 percent occupancy will surely leave the makers of Uppena in a state of happiness. With no competition at the box-office and full occupancy, the love story is expected to strike gold at the box-office.

On the other hand, there is no information on the stand of the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy led Andhra Pradesh government on the same issue. If KCR's counterpart also o takes a similar decision, the makers will be thrilled.
