Senior director Gunasekhar who did not make a single film since 'Rudramadevi' which came out in 2015 has now announced his upcoming movie. He took the plot from Mahabharata and penned 'Shakuntalam' based on the love story of Shakuntala and Dushyanta.
It is expected to be narrated from a female lead's point-of-view and news is that Gunasekhar is looking for heroines from the North to play the lead. Rumors came out that he held talks with Samantha and Pooja Hegde but the producer Neelima Guna dismissed them.
They are reportedly looking for a Bollywood actress who can give a pan-Indian appeal to this project. Produced under 'Gunaa Team Works', it is to be seen who will be the lucky lady to grab this opportunity. After 'Shaakuntalam', Gunasekhar will be working on 'Hiranyakashapa' which will be featuring Rana Daggubati in the title role.
