Praveenrn Sattaru left a mark of his own in the Industry with films such as rn'LBW', 'Routine Love Story' and 'Chandamama Kathalu'. Unfortunately, rnNone of these films have been commercially successful. So, He opted for rnan Crime Comedy 'Guntur Talkies' which has got lots of adult content rnthis time. Was the New Product able to meet the expectations?

Synopsis:

Girirn (Naresh) and Hari (Siddhu) who were from lower-middle class background rnwork in a medical shop. While Giri's wife elopes with somebody and he rnhimself takes care of his ailing mom & children, Hari is having an rnaffair with Suvarna (Reshmi Gautham) after escaping from a Lady Don rnRevolver Rani (Shraddha Das). In the nights, They turn thieves to earn rnsome quick bucks. One day, They rob Rs 5 lakhs each in two houses. Therern after, Police and Don's Sidekicks chase them. How did Giri and Hari rncome out of this mess forms the rest of the tale!

Performances:

Nareshrn has given one of his career best performance. Even though the content rnis weak, He tried his best to salvage the movie with his comic timing rn& natural emotions. Even Siddhu did a good job and they complementedrn each other very well.

Rashmi Gautham is sensational in 'Suvarna Naa Sontham' song. She, however, doesn't have much scope for acting.

Shraddharn Das as Revolver Rani is very bold and she played her part to rnperfection. Mahesh Manjrekar's role wasn't up to the mark. Fish Venkat rntickles the funny bone. Raghubabu, Raja Ravindra, Ravi Prakash and rnOthers did a fine job.

Pros:

Naresh's Performance

Rashmi Gautham's glamour show

Shraddha Das bold act

Cons:

Screenplay

Direction

Slow Pace

Technicalities:

Srirn Charan's Music sounds different and that's what a film in this genre rnrequires. Ram Reddy's Camera Work is good enough. Production Values are rnalright. Praveen Sattaru yet again made a different attempt but focussedrn more commercial aspects rather than story & screenplay. He just rnfollowed the Adult Crime Comedies made in the past instead of trying to rnleave his own mark.

Analysis:

Seemsrn like, Successive failures have brought a lot of change in Praveen rnSattaru. Instead of relying on story & screenplay, He concentrated rnmore on the elements which excite the youth. What audience get to see inrn 'Guntur Talkies' is Adult Dialogues, Crass Comedy and Rashmi Gautham's rnglamour show.

One wonders why Praveen Sattaru made a film like rn'Guntur Talkies' after bagging a National Award. Such is the adult rncontent in the movie and no one knows why he has gone to such extremes. rn'Guntur Talkies' reminds us of 'Delhi Belly' when it comes to the adult rnaspect but the former was so weak in content to make a good impression. rn

Combination scenes of Naresh and Siddhu worked out to some rnextent. But, None of the other characters entertained due to weak rnwriting. Even the pace that's crucial for a Crime Comedy flick is rnmissing here. First Half is loaded with silly sequences and momentum rnpicked up only after the Interval sequence. The flaws continued in the rnSecond Half to test viewers patience. Police interrogation sequence of rnGiri & Hari irritates. Dragging of scenes spoiled the movie watchingrn experience. Some how, The Director managed to present a decent Climax.

Still, Audience who love Adult Comedies might appreciate the attempt of Praveen Sattaru if gone with low expectations.

Bottom Line: 'ADULT' Talkies!
