How much Guru earned on opening day?

Update: 2017-04-01 11:50 GMT
It is a known fact that there was not much hype on Victory Venkatesh starrer 'Guru'.  The movie didn't appear to be a commercial film.. no heroism like a mass film.. not much publicity from the film makers.. and hurriedly release.. all these things contributed to the low buzz.  So, 'Guru' could not register collections like Venky's last film 'Babu Bangaram'.  'Guru' has collected Rs.2.51 crore share in the two Telugu states on the first day.

This figure is less for a star hero like Venky.  But when we look at the investment on the film.. and the expectations on the movie, the opening day collection figure is pretty decent. On the other hand, 'Guru' received positive reviews and good response from the audience. Positive discussions are going on in social media about this film.

According to the trade reports, collections said to have been improved for first show & second show when compared with morning show & matinee.  Trade analysts are predicting that 'Guru' collections will further improve on Saturday and Sunday.  As the tickets are priced less in USA.. weekend collections are expected to be better than the opening day.

On the whole, first weekend collections are expected to be anywhere around Rs. 13-14 crore share.  If that happens, 'Guru' will enter the profit zone in the first weekend itself.  The movie is made with a budget of Rs.10 crore.  The buzz says that Venky is taking share in the profits instead of remuneration.
