Majority of the Tollywood directors are dialogue writers. Harish Shankar is one of the few directors who has good recognition among the audience for his punch dialogues. His dialogues in 'Mirapakay'.. 'Gabbar Singh'.. 'Subramanyam For Sale' received good applause from the audience.
His recent release 'Duvvada Jagannadham' movie was panned by critics for its storyline and screen-play.. but dialogues-wise Harish received good applause. Harish Shankar said that audience have certain expectations on him regarding the dialogues.. so he takes extra care when writing dialogues. He said that he never satisfy with a single version when it comes to dialogues.. he keeps on improvising the dialogues. It happens not only during the shoot but the process contineus during the dubbing stage as well. If a good dialogue strikes in his mind during the dubbing stage, he will immediately change the previous dialogue. He said that he never worry even though shooting has been completed...he will not even think about lip sinc also.

He said that he tries to impress NRI audience residing in America.. and the mass audience living in remote villages of Telugu states with his dialogues.
