Former railway minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said Saturday that he had done nothing wrong and welcomed investigations into the case related to his nephew accepting a bribe for getting a senior official a plum Railway Board post.
"I have given my statement on the first day itself and I have nothing to do with this incident. I have welcomed the investigation by the CBI in the matter," Bansal told reporters here.
Bansal resigned Friday night following allegations of corruption and impropriety. His nephew was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) last week for accepting a bribe of Rs.90 lakh for getting a senior official a plum Railway Board post.
Bansal was in office for around six months.
