How Could You Expel Me?: Chinmayi Fires

Update: 2018-11-24 16:59 GMT
Playback Singer Chinmayi was expelled from the South Indian Cine, Television Artistes and Dubbing Artistes Union citing non-payment of membership fee to the concerned body.

However, Chinmayi rubbished the allegation in a 19-minute video released by her. 'I paid a lifetime membership fee of Rs 5,000 apart from the prescribed amount. Didn't pay the subscription fee as I had paid the lifetime membership fee. How could you expel a lifetime member?,' she questioned.

The Singer had shared the screen shot of the bank transfer made to the Dubbing Union in February 11th, 2006. She complains Dubbing Union hadn't even offered any receipt for the payment made by her.

Chinmayi alleges only her membership was cancelled out of the 97 members who were declared as ineligible to vote during Dubbing Union elections on grounds that membership fee of Rs 180 wasn't paid. She says Dubbing Union is yet to decide the fate of 96 others.

Actor Radha Ravi heads the Dubbing Union. Chinmayi extended support to those women who accused him of harassing them. Termination from the Dubbing Union seems to be the price this Popular Singer has to pay for standing up for what is right.
