Update: 2022-11-29 15:11 GMT
The stage is set for James Cameron to take the entire world by storm with 'Avatar: The Way of Water' on 16th December. The legendary director said that it needs to collect at least 2 billion to reach the breakeven status. This shows how much budget was allotted to this movie and the trailers which came out till date made people awestruck. People across the globe cannot wait to watch the films on the big screens and become speechless.

The movie is releasing in English, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages just in India. It is going to be released on a grand scale and the advance bookings showcase how crazy the audience are towards this movie. Interestingly, there is a huge contrast in the advance bookings for this film in North India and South India. People from the South are eagerly waiting to watch this visual extravaganza in 3D and 4DX formats. The tickets in major cities like Hyderabad and Bengaluru are getting sold like hotcakes. The multiplexes are getting booked for six days already in many parts. The bookings for the single screens and theatres in towns were not opened yet.

In Chennai too, over 70% occupancy can be seen in screens showcasing the 3D version and 4DX formats of 'Avatar 2'. The regular booking are expected to catch up fast since there are more than two weeks left for the release. While this is the case in the South, the situation is different in the North.

The advance bookings are not highly encouraging in cities like Kolkata, Pune, Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and others. Only 3D + 4DX screens in Mumbai had housefuls and the rest of them are quite empty. The high rates are the main reason as they are ranging from 500 to 1300 in North India. But tickets worth Rs 1400 in Bengaluru are already sold out. The behavior of the North audience has reportedly changed since the lockdown as per analysts. With a lot of time left for the release, we need to see if things improve in the Northern parts or not.

'Avatar: The Way Of Water' tells us the story of the Sully family, the troubles they endure, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they face. The visuals are nothing short of fantastic and Cameroon seems to have delivered another record-shattering film. The action sequences, the music, the production design, the acting and every aspect look jaw-dropping. The makers claim it as a 'Motion Picture Event Of A Generation'.
