Shoojit Sircar's latest directorial 'Gulabo Sitabo' starring the legendary Amitabh Bachchan and happening hero Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead was supposed to get released in May but due to the present situation, they decided to opt for a digital release.
Despite all the outrage from single screen and multiplex owners, the film is getting released on Amazon Prime. It seems like the film got more profits from having a digital release than it could have got from a theatrical release. This film was made on a budget of 35 crores and Amazon Prime bought this film for reportedly 65 crores. Along with it, the satellite rights were sold for 15 crores and audio rights went for another 7 crores. This means that the film got 88 crores in total which leaves the producers with a huge profit of 53 crores.
