Ever since the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy led Andhra Pradesh government announced the idea of selling the movie tickets in dedicated portals, a lot has been said. The bigwigs in Tollywood are yet to break their silence and give their opinion on the same issue. Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan had attacked the government fiercely in this regard recently.
Tollywood producer Natti Kumar, a vocal supporter of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the other states in the country will follow us when it comes to the sale of tickets. The supportive comments coming from a producer had brought weightage to the statements.
Natti Kumar recently gave an interview to the leading media house iDream Telugu. During the interview, Natti Kumar spoke about lobbying in the industry and said it works with the government but Jagan Mohan Reddy is not supporting such lobbying.
When asked by the interviewer that there are any lobby masters in the industry, Natti Kumar said lobbying works in the industry. Jagan who knew about the truths behind the practice is not supporting the lobbying.
Giving more details about the tickets issue, Natti Kumar said, a 100 rupees ticket is sold for Rs 127 by the ticket aggregators. Keeping aside the factor that in which pocket the money is going, the mediums are getting benefited with this.
Ten lakh tickets are sold daily. Multiply the same with Rs 127. See yourself how much the amount goes to. When so much public money is going into the hands of private hands why should the same not be stopped. Why can't the orders issued by the High Court be implemented? The government, theatre owners, producers, Chamber, and Council are not getting any money from the ticket sales. The middlemen are taking all the money. Be it Book My Show, Easy Movie, or any online platform, he said.
Why can't the government start the process of online ticket sales and use the same money to bring good schemes for the poor public? Jagan Mohan Reddy Garu had started the same program today. If the idea succeeds then a 100 percent online ticket scheme will come to India, he added
