India's Cult Classic releases in Pak after 40 Years

'Sholay', the cult Bollywood classic starring Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan, hits the screens in Pakistan for the first time ever 40 years after its release in India.

Geo Films and Mandviwalla Entertainment has been releasing 'Sholay' in Pakistan. A grand premiere in Karachi at the Neuplex is being planned and several A-list celebs will be gracing it.

Film Critic Omair Alavi says 'Sholay' have a large section of fans in Pakistan. He recollects the experience of watching old Indian movies on VCR at the time when it was illegal to screen. He feels watching All-Time Indian Blockbuster on the big screen in 3D and 2D is an unforgettable experience.

'Sholay' will have a big release on May 1st in Pakistan. At one of the theatres screenin the film, Huge cutouts of Jai, Veeru and Gabbar Singh were erected in a village environment much to the delight of movie goers.
