Indraghanti Mohan Krishna is known as the director who sticks to his beliefs and makes movie according to them. He never tried to let someone else dictate terms for him and he made films based on his conviction. The director reiterated that he will continue doing so and we are quite pleased about his conviction.
The comedy in Telugu Cinema has changed mostly these days and we have been subjected to more crass and double meaning dialogues these days in the name of comedy. The raise of several comedy shows on Television like Jabardasth have also dominated the comedy scene.
But Indraghanti Mohankrishna did not let the norm dictate him and delivered a clean comedy film, Ami Thumi. The movie became a hit at the box office and the director in one of his recent interviews said how much he doesn't like the Adult Comedy.
The director said, " I don't believe that audience sit on a protest in front of theatres saying we expect this and only this from movies. They watch what we make and decide on how much they like it. Many directors have their own conviction and my conviction is to not fall for the traps of commerciality and give up my belief on not using Adult Comedy in my films. If there are audience who only like Adult comedy then if they don't like my movie or even don't watch it I'm fine with it. But I won't budge for pressure to make something I don't believe in. It is hard to write clean comedy and I enjoy that struggle more than anything."
