Is Anil Ravipudi Growing Slightly Over-Confident?

Update: 2020-01-08 13:39 GMT
Anil Ravipudi is not at the level of EVV Satyanarayana or Jandhyala. There are many directors who tried to make films with comedy as the base.

People like Kodi Ramakrishna, Relangi Narasimha Rao and Srinu Vaitla are best examples of directors who used to go for 80% comedy in their films.

Kodi Ramakrishna tried to be more flexible with the genres but out of 120-125 films, he directed more than 85 off them are commercial formula films and they all had comedy as their base.

Srinu Vaitla decided to make every film as a comedy after Nee Kosam, his first film, ended up as an average grosser. Relangi Narasimha Rao, a forgotten director in TFI made most of his films with Rajendra Prasad and he is instrumental in making the actor, a comedy star hero along with directors like Vamshi, EVV and Jandhyala.

Anil Ravipudi did deliver 4 out of 4 hits and 5th one, Sarileru Neekevvaru might also end up as a hit, but his statements like he will never give a flop or his attempt to place him besides some legendary directors at an early age, seems to give us signs of his growing confidence and at times, over confidence too.

All the people whom were mentioned above, earned the titles as legends or greats, after consistently proving themselves for years and at times they used to give hits in one calendar year, without fail.

Even they had to fail and even they had to learn some lessons in managing their egos. Hope, Anil Ravipudi understands this. He seems to be unhappy with comparisons to Srinu Vaitla or other directors who made comic films except for legends like EVV, Vamshi or Jandhyala, it seems. It is way too early to even think about placing him in their league.
