Is Harish Shankar Next VV Vinayak?

Update: 2019-09-21 08:18 GMT
Harish Shankar made a good name with Gabbar Singh but most of the movie credit went to Pawan Kalyan as he was involved in writing and known for "shadow-directing" at times.

His next films did not consolidate his stake as a good commercial director, but Harish Shankar has been showing growth as a pakka Telugu masala movie maker.

He lands the hero characters pretty well and understands massy moments in a film script better than recent corp of directors. We can see that he is getting better at crafting "hero moments" and elevations fans love and even mass audiences of Telugu cinema wish to enjoy.

In 'A' centres, anong Family crowds he doesn't have similar hold but B and C centres seem to be enjoying his movies. V V Vinayak after his early burst with Aadi, Chennakesava Reddy, Dil, Tagore settled into the chair of commercial director that B and C audiences love from Samba.

Puri Jagannath is a different school of his own, Trivikram Srinivas is more classy, SS Rajamouli again has his own touch to every emotion while Sukumar is completely different from everyone.

Telugu commercial space lacks a trustworthy entertaining filmmaker like Kondandarami Reddy or Kodi Ramakrishna and after V V Vinayak, who is now not in the best form, producers need someone to feel that space.

Harish Shankar by handling song like Elluvacchi Godaramma remix, delivering the punchline shots and even the massy Moments of Gaddalakonda Ganesh remaking a more classy subtle mass film, Jigarthanda shows that he is getting there.

Still his action sequences and drama scenes need some fine tuning. For now, we can say that he is a trustworthy mass commercial director. Only Gaddalakonda Ganesh result can tell if that is sufficient for today's netsavvy young crowd or not!
