Jaanu Starts With Dismal Returns In USA

Dil Raju might have had his calculations in making 96 remake as Jaanu but except for some core audiences in Telugu states, most of the people that the movie targets have watched the original multiple times.

Sharwanand and Samantha Akkineni did perform their best but just rehashing the same scenes and shots with different actors doesn't spark audiences to watch the film again.

USA audiences have proved this. Samantha has a good market in USA and her hit films generally cross 1 Million dollars there. But Jaanu started off with just 68k dollars on first day.

Movie did get positive ratings like 3 or more from most of the critics and important "sites" but the impact seems to be nowhere to be seen.

As 96 is available to stream and in piracy, the audiences did not show much interest in watching redo with Telugu people in it.

US market is the biggest money spinner for this film than Telugu states as "A" centres audiences only show interest in such slow burns. So, movie's debacle in that market will be a big issue for producers who think about going for remakes of these kind of films further.
