The much-awaited theatrical trailer of 'Jaanu' (remake of Tamil film '96') has been released a while ago. This film featuring Samantha Akkineni and Sharwanand in the lead is a beautiful and touching love story directed by C. Premkumar. Let us see how the trailer is.
The trailer is a faithful remake of its original. The makers did not try to change the scenes or even the frames which worked out to an extent. The visuals by Mahendiran Jayaraju look absolutely good and so is the music by Govind Vasantha. The girl who played the younger version of Jaanu is perfect and appears adorable. She was the one who played this part in original too. On the whole, the childhood scenes appeared quite convincing.
The problem with a faithful remake is that it will definitely be compared with the original. The trailer disappoints on that front. Though Sharwanand and Samantha did a good job, the magic and chemistry between Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha are just irreplaceable. Samantha's makeup looked a bit out of place even though she is supposed to look natural in the film. Sharwa fits the clean look perfectly but he is not convincing in the beard look.
We cannot judge a film entirely based on its trailer and let us see whether the team of 'Jaanu' surprises us on February 7th or not.
