Jagan clears way to Kodela

TDP senior legislator from Narasaraopet Kodela Shiva prasad will be named speaker of the AP Assembly on Friday as YSRCP unanimously supported his candidature today. Kodela election would be unanimous as the YSR Congress Party has also decided not to oppose his candidature.

In an effort to arrive at agreement, legislative affairs minister Yanamala Ramakrishna met YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and requested his support to Kodela Candidature for which Jagan agreed.

Protem Speaker Narayanaswamy issued election notification for speaker and deputy speaker posts and the  election will be held tomorrow at 9.22 am in the house.With Jagan’s acceptance on Kodela candidature it will be a mere formality to elect him as speaker.

Kodela won Six times as MLA and served as Minister under NTR and CBN cabinets. He won 5 times from Narasarao Pet and recently shifted to Sattenapalli. Earlier in the day  Kodela Sivaprasada Rao met the chief minister and requested him to select him for the post as he is one of the senior most leaders in the party.
