Tamil Courtroom drama Jai Bhim that stars Suriya in the lead role is in the headlines for both good and wrong reasons. Good reasons are that the people who watched the film are in awe of the film and the reviews and ratings it is receiving is mind blowing.

Talking about the wrong reasons, the Vanniyar Community are not all impressed with the alleged wrong depiction and the makers and Amazon Prime have received notices on the same grounds. The Pattali Makkal Katchi that fights for the rights of the Vanniyar Community had served the notice to the makers.

Amid the controversy, security at Suriya's residence in Chennai's T. Nagar was beefed up to avoid any unwanted situations. Special forces were deployed at his house. It is said that the action was taken as a precautionary measure despite the actor making no such request.

Things escalated quickly after a member of the Pattali Makkal Katchi made an announcement through media that those who attack Suriya will receive a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh. To show their anger against the alleged wrong depiction, the members of the community have staged protests and even lodged a police complaint against the actor.

In the notice the Sangam sent to the makers of Jai Bheem and Amazon Prime, that is streaming the courtroom drama, the members have placed their demands that the objectionable scenes should be removed and the name of the wrong police officer should be changed.

The controversy started when the representatives of Vanniyar Community raised objections for distorting the facts and changing the name of the wrong police officer who was behind the custodial death. They say that the police was given a Vanniyar name and the Agni Kundam, a symbol to represent their community was also shown which is not required as the original cop was a Christian.

Suriya who is going through a tough time with this controversy is receiving support from the fans, members of the Kollywood Industry and netizens. Hashtags supporting the actor were trending on social media as a token of extending support to Suriya.
