Sumitra, a married woman, filed a police complaint against her husband Jaishanker after seeing his Facebook page which said Alphonsa was his wife. Even the name of Alphonsa was included in the FIR.
Fearing arrest, Alphonsa filed an anticipatory bail plea in Madras High Court. Justice MM Sudresh, however, adjourned the bail plea of the actress to next week.
Sumitra was married to Jaishankar on July 10th, 2013. The couple went to Dubai as Jaishanker works there but he had disappeared after being with her for just one day. Sumitra then flew back to India as Husband never returned home. Upon seeing her husband Facebook page in which Alphonsa was mentioned as his wife, She filed a complaint at the All Women Police Station in Saidapet seeking action.
So, The fate of Alphonsa will be known when the petition comes up for hearing in Madras High Court next week.
