Geethanjali gave a huge break to Sreenivas Reddy. It gave confidence to filmmakers that this Comedian could carry the whole film on his shoulders. That's how debutante director Shivaraj Kanumuri chose Sreenivas Reddy as the lead of his movie. Since the launch of promo song 'Okasari Etu Chode...', 'Jayammu Nischayammu Raa' made the heads turn. Tall claims of Koratala Siva, Sukumar and Trivikram at promotional events only raised the expectations on the subject. Has this feel-good love story hit the bull's eye?

Synopsis:

Sarvesh alias Sarvamangalam (Sreenivas Reddy) is from a weaver's family in Karimnagar. He is a well-educated guy who is low on self-confidence. With the faith he have on astrology, He blindly follows the instructions of his Guru and even gives credit for the job he bagged in Group 2 to him. Kakinada is the town where Sarvesh gets his First Posting. He wishes to obtain transfer to his native place as early as possible to look after his Mother. As his Guru says transfer could be obtained if he can marry Rani (Poorna) who works in the Mee Seva, Sarvesh makes desperate attempts to impress her. Was he able to marry Rani and get the transfer? Grab the tickets to know it!!

Performances:

Sreenivas Reddy once again showed his calibre to carry the whole movie on his shoulders. He did what was required for the character instead of unnecessary build-ups. Only the character of Sarvamangalam could be seen every time he appears on the screen. The Telangana dialect he uses is perfect and steals the show with natural performance.

Poorna does a fine job. She conveys a lot using her eyes and aptly cast as Sreenivas Reddy's love interest. However, The glow that used to be there in her past movies went missing.

Ravi Varma impresses with negative role. Sri Vishnu is funny. Posani-Praveen Combo Scenes are hilarious. Krishna Bhagwan relies on adult comedy. Jogi Brothers have done a good job. Prabhas Seenu tickles the funny bone.

Pros:

Sreenivas Reddy

Concept & Backdrop

Comedy

Cons:

First Half

Slow Pace

Technicalities:

Technically, 'Jayammu Nischayammu Raa' is sound. Songs composed by Ravichandra are situational. Kartheek Radrigez's BGM is too good. 'Pellichoopulu' fame Nagesh Banel offers pleasant visuals once again with his Camera Work. Production Values are alright. Writer-cum-Director Sivaraj Kanumuri left a mark of his own in his debut movie. He deserves appreciation for making a honest attempt. The Debutante came up with good characterizations and presented the story in an effective manner. However, Narration is too slow and ample time was taken for establishing the characters. Few unnecessary scenes has only dragged the movie. Overall, Mr. Sivaraj score brownie points for the many positives in the movie.

Analysis:

Films with rural/small-town backdrop has become very rare in Tollywood these days. In such times, 'Jayammu Nischayammu Raa' turned the heads with the tagline 'Desavali Vinodam'. Director Sivaraj Kanumuri tried to present the story of a common man in an entertaining manner. At times, Viewers get the feeling of listening to a personality development chapter due to the characterization of hero, sluggish narration and long run time. On a whole, Its a very good attempt by the entire Team.

Every character created by the Director has got an identity. Not just the Lead Pair, Even Comedians and Character Artistes were given ample scope to excel. Once after the introduction of all these characters, Audience patiently wait for the turning point in the movie. Slow Narration and Repetitive Scenes are the drawbacks in the First Half. Of course, A bit of humour here and there makes it passable.

Pace of movie picks up in the Second Half soon after the Male Lead gains self-confidence. The way Hero solves his problems one after the other is being presented in an impressive manner. Comedy generated by Posani, Praveen, Krishna Bhagwan and Prabhas Seenu is worth watching.

Nativity factor in 'Jayammu Nischayammu Raa' deserves a special mention. Director portrayed the characters, culture and slang of people in Karimnagar and Kakinada very well. Ending given to the Love Story is very convincing. However, Director stretched the movie a bit towards the end. But, He ensured that audience left the theatres with a smile on their faces.

Bottom Line:
Slow & Steady!
