2nd April weekend is one of the biggest holiday weekends this year, as April 1st Financial Year starting holiday adds to that of Gudi Padwa, Ugadi holiday on 2nd of April. 3rd of April is Sunday.

This kind of weekend during the start of the month means great box office returns for films. John Abraham's Attack released on 1st April trying to take advantage of the weekend.

But the movie opened to a poor Rs. 3.5 crores Nett on the first day even though some of the Maharastrians celebrated Gudi Padhwa on that day.

RRR on contrary showed good hold on Friday and the pandit's say that on second Friday also movie collected close to Rs. 13 crore Nett in Hindi.

RRR Hindi version stands on top with Rs. 132 crores Nett collection in first week among the films released post pandemic. Sooryavanshi in the first week collected Rs. 120 crores Nett only.

Looks like John Abraham who has been on an unfortunate flop spree added one more to the list with Attack. Unless the movie gets good word of mouth, it cannot survive the weekend also.

RRR has collected Rs. 710 crores gross Worldwide in first week and it is the third highest box office grosser ever among Indian films.
