Superstar Rajinikanth's latest film 'Kaala' is releasing today. The movie premiers have already been screened in the USA and the initial reports state that the movie received a lukewarm response. Though Rajini-Pa Ranjith last film 'Kabali' released amidst huge expectations, 'Kaala' didn't receive that kind of a response in the US.
The trade analysts are saying that the premiers + day 1 collections may end up between $500K to $600K. The advance bookings are not so encouraging and it had an impact on the day one openings. Surprisingly 'Kabali' mania was so high that it has collected $1.95 million from the premiers and day 1 collections. So, 'Kaala' opening collections are very disappointing considering the stardom of Rajinikanth.
The only encouraging aspect is that the movie opened to a positive talk in the overseas and they are saying that the movie is far better than 'Kabali'. So, this may have a positive impact on the film's collections in the long run.
