'Om' is the biggest disaster in the career of Nandamuri Kalyan Ram. The film unit has extensively promoted 'Om' as the first action 3D film in India. Kalyan Ram has invested Rs.25 crores on the film and he took a lot of pain during the making as the technology was completely new then. But the movie turned out to be a huge disaster. 3D technology couldn't help the film in any way. Kalyan Ram has lost all his money with the failure of 'Om'.
Whenever Kalyan Ram talks about 'Om', he expresses his sadness. Kalyan Ram's latest film 'Naa Nuvve' is getting ready for the release soon and he is busy promoting the film. In a recent promotion interview, he opened up about 'Om' troubles and why the film turned out to be a failure.
He said "I wanted to show something new with 'Om'. We do not know much about 3D then.. I wanted to show that technology. We'll come to know about the troubles involved when we are trying to introduce a new technology. We will understand the troubles when we started working on the project. The same thing happened with 'Om'. We had to spend an hour time for setting up camera. Once we set up the camera it is not possible to move front or back. As we brought the Hollywood technicians, budget has shot up. They used to charge per hour so, the budget increased. 'Om' was three years hard work.. I invested huge on the film. The result was a huge shock for me. I lost huge money. I convinced myself .. I didn't lose money on gambling.. I lost money on the cinema."
