Legendary actor, Kamal Hassan has many things to say about politics and films. He never misses the opportunity to put forward his thoughts on latest developments. He gave an interview to a local daily and had some interesting things to say about Baahubali.
He said, "Baahubali is the best thing that could've happened to the film industry, financially speaking. They've worked for it." While he praised business model he had his own reservations in making historicals. He continued saying, "It (Baahubali) also proves that we have a great culture and also the best stories here. But, then they say we have 2000 years of culture. There, I'd like to intervene. We are not 2000 years old, we're 70. Don't hark on Chandragupta Maurya or Ashoka; they are not my forefathers. They are so far back in the past that we cannot emulate or interpret (their stories) in modern life. But we are trying to - we are grappling between the past and the present, slipping and slithering."
Well, we can those are some interesting thoughts but he too tried to bring Murudanayagam's biopic on screen and that doesn't belong to seventy years of history as he claims. Even his Hey Ram doesn't belong to 70 years of Indian history. Well, he might have changed his mind after struggling to find producers for those movies. He sometimes does have interesting things to say and we only hope he thinks much more than he usually does before sharing them! He is currently busy shooting for Sebash Naidu, Vishwaroopam sequel and a reality show in Tamil.
