Kangana Ranaut All Set For Sequel Of 'Manikarnika' Franchise

Kangana Ranaut's 2019 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' had ended as a decent hit at the box office. Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi and Kangana jointly shared the direction credits. The first film in this franchise, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, based on the life of Rani Lakshmi Bai. Now, the actress is set to return with the second instalment of the franchise.

Titled Manikarnika Returns: The Legend Of Didda, the film is based on the life of Didda, Kashmir's first woman ruler, sometimes characterised as the "Cleopatra of Kashmir". As per history, Didda, the warrior queen of Kashmir, ruled Kashmir for around five decades in the 10th and 11th centuries.

The movie will be jointly produced by Kangana and Kamal Jain, who bankrolled the first instalment, Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi. The film is expected to go on floors in January 2022.

Apart from this project, Kangana Ranaut has AL Vijay's Thalaivi, Razneesh Ghai's Dhaakad and Sarvesh Mewara's Tejas in the pipeline.
