Bollywood's elite producer and filmmaker Karan Johar has developed a special interest for South films ever since he released 'Baahubali' in Hindi. He understood the power and scope for business in South Indian films before anyone else. He is the host for the pre-release event of 'RRR' in Mumbai and will be seen as the host for 'KGF â 2' trailer launch which will be on 27th March.
After 'Baahubali' franchise, he released '2.0' in Hindi and also convinced Rajamouli to present his big-budget venture 'Brahmastra' in South India. He acquired the remake rights of 'Dear Comrade' in the past. Though he did not remake it till date, he has announced that he bought the remake rights of another South Indian film.
It is none other than 'Hridayam' which a beautiful coming-of-age love story that won the hearts of many. He released an official statement that said, "I am so delighted and honored to share this news with you. Dharma Productions & Fox Star Studios have acquired the rights to a beautiful, coming-of-age love story, #Hridayam in Hindi, Tamil & Telugu â all the way from the south, the world of Malayalam cinema."
He extended his gratitude to Visakh Subramaniam and Merryland Cinemas. We need to stay tuned for more updates regarding this project. 'Hridayam' has Pravan Mohanlal playing the hero's role while Kalyani Priyadarshan and Darshana Rajendra are the heroines. Vineeth Sreenivasan has written and directed this film. The songs were a huge hit and it collected around 55 crores in the Malayalam market.
