Meanwhile, Tamil hero Karthi is eyeing on the same weekend. His latest Tamil film 'Theeran Adhigaram Ondru' is dubbed into Telugu as 'Khakee'. The makers have announced that they are going to release the film on September 8.

The makers initially planned to release the film on the occasion of Diwali festival.. but they have changed the release date to the earlier weekend because Vijay's 'Mersal' is releasing on Diwali.
