Popular Telugu platform 'Aha'is coming up with a lot of interesting and fresh content nowadays. The latest inclusion to the list is 'Telugu Indian Idol'which will begin from 25th February. It will be streamed every Friday and Saturday. The show was launched grandly by Allu Aravind & Co. They brought in big names like star composer Thaman, top singer Karthik and multitalented beauty Nithya Menen as the judges.
This inclusion of Karthik is getting a lot of negative responses on the internet and we all know the reason why. Karthik is a highly talented singer who has sung thousands of songs in his career. He has a magical voice that cannot be denied but he was accused during the #MeToo movement by singer Chinmayi Sripada.
The popular singer and dubbing artist openly thrashed well-known names like Karthik and lyricist Vairamuthu during the #MeToo movement back in 2018. Though nothing was proved till date, Karthik was often criticised on social media due to this. With him becoming the judge of 'Telugu Indian Idol', some netizens are slamming the makers for including him. They are posting messages which said, "Some adjectives are important. He is not Karthik â He is meTOO accused (by multiple women) Karthik. The victims find it hard to find work, the accused will be the judges."
Chinmayi took this opportunity to thrash Karthik as she wrote, "I have received multiple DMs about this. As someone fighting the system legally â it is exhausting for me to be calling EVERY such event out â and they dime a dozen â while everyone sits back and watches the drama. Sexual harassment is a societal problem and everyone needs to step up and do their bit. Please. Beyond a point, it seems like there are just 5-6 of us women facing various court cases having have to do the labour and then answer 'How come you didn't call it out>! Is it because he is uppercaste?"
She added, "Also don't ask me about women being enablers. 3 ish years down the line â I know enough women who enable predators too. The gender doesn't matter. I look at them as enablers. That's all."
Chinmayi even questioned legendary Mani Ratnam for giving work to Karthik in his 'Navarasa'. The 'Telugu Indian Idol'will be hosted by Indian Idol winner Srerama Chandra who reached the final during the last season of Bigg Boss.
