Senior Director Kodi Ramakrishna breathed his last on Friday afternoon while undergoing treatment at AIG Hospital in Gachibowli, Hyderabad.
Few years ago, Kodi Ramakrishna suffered heart attack and paralytic attack. He, however, was able to recover completely upon undergoing treatment. The other day, Kodi Ramakrishna was rushed to a private hospital after he complained of breathlessness. He passed away Today though a team of doctors tried their best to help him recover.
Kodi Ramakrishna made his debut as director with 'Intlo Ramayya Veedhilo Krishnayya'. He went on to direct over 100 films which include Industry Hits such as Mangamma Gari Manavadu & Muddula Mavayya, fantasy films like Devi, Arundathi and Anji. One of the very few Directors who has done films in all the South Indian Languages and Hindi as well. 'Avatharam' (2014) in Telugu and 'Nagarahavu' (2016) in Kannada were his last directorial flicks. Modi Ramakrishna had even acted in films such as Dongata, Into Donga and Aasti Mooredu Aasha Baaredu. He was one of the very few filmmakers who balanced both low-budget films and star-studded movies with impressive success rate. Kodi Ramakrishna was a recipient of many honours during his glorious film career. He bagged 10 Nandi Awards and Two Filmfare Awards. In 2012, He was conferred with Raghupathi Venkaiah Award.
Kodi Ramakrishna hails from Palakollu in West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh. He continued to direct films for over 3 decades since 1982.
