There is no rule that each and every film should become a super hit or blockbuster at the box office.  But the producers expect their film to recover at least 75% of their investment back even if the film fails at the box office.  If a film becomes a disaster the recovery percentage drops drastically and it can even touch 50%.   But Krishna Vamsi directorial 'Nakshatram' turned out to be a disaster ka baap with 15% recovery.

It is known that Krishna Vamsi claimed the Nakshatram budget to be Rs.30 crores.  Krishna Vamsi, Sai Dharam didn't charge any remuneration for the film.. and other artists charged very less for the film.  If we include these remunerations the budget will further escalate and the recovery percentage will also drop from 15%.

The audience didn't have any expectations on the film but still, Krishna Vamsi tried to create some hype with promotions.  The movie received disaster talk right from the morning show.  It has collected Rs.4.16 crore share in the full run.  It has collected Rs. 3.93 crores in two Telugu states and the collections in the rest of the areas were only Rs.23 lakhs.

Krishna Vamsi was known as a creative director in Telugu earlier and his fans expected that he will bounce back with 'Nakshatram'.. but it turned out to be the biggest disaster of his career.
