Kollywood superstar Rajinikanth also has a massive fan following in Tollywood. But, most of his movies haven't scored big at the box office lately. His previous outing '2.O' made a share collection of more than 50 crores.

But none of the other commercial movies by Rajnikanth succeeded at the Tollywood Box Office lately. The back to back flops of 'Linga', 'Kabali' movies dented Rajnikanth's image and market. In fact, no distributors came forward to buy the rights of 'Kaala' after the biggest disaster of 'Kabali'. Lyca productions opted for own release with the help of N V Prasad. But, they haven't made big profits with the film. Now, that impact is showing on Rajini's upcoming movie 'Petta'. The expectations are low in on the film. Moreover, the movie is slated to hit the screens for Sankranthi and is going to clash with so many big Telugu movies. So, none of the buyers are showing interest in that film.

Finally, Vallabhaneni Ashok came forward. But, he has invested only 12 crores to buy the rights of the film. 'Kabali' rights were sold for 30 crores but now the rights of 'Petta' are not even making half of it. However, we have to wait and see if at least this movie scores bigger at the Tollywood box office or not.
