Legendary playback singer Lata Mangeshkar has sadly passed away. The medical team attending Lata announced that she had breathed her last earlier in the morning today.
Lata, 92 was diagnosed with pneumonia and she had also also contracted Covid. Her medical condition kept deteriorating.
Lata was taken off ventilator support on the 28th of January after she showed signs of improvement. But her condition kept deteriorating and she sadly passed away today.
"I consider it my honour that I have always received immense affection from Lata Didi. My interactions with her will remain unforgettable. I grieve with my fellow Indians on the passing away of Lata Didi. Spoke to her family and expressed condolences. Om Shanti." The prime minister Narendra Modi tweeted as he reacted to Lata's passing away.
