Are writers being robbed??

Normally, we all fight hard to fulfil our needs. We work hard so that we can satisfy our hunger, borrow a shelter and cover ourselves with decent clothing. There is another addition to these, job satisfaction. We work in a job for years and look to make a healthy living and also win some credit for the body of work and results, we accomplished. For Film folks, credit for what they create is the means of living. A line written by them gives them an identity and these days, writers are being robbed off it.

This is nothing new, as there are many instances in our Telugu Cinema history where there were ghost writers to famous writers but when a producer paid someone for writing they used to give credit. Recently, we are seeing a dangerous trend of some producers ignoring the contribution of writers and not giving them due credit. It forced Koratala Siva to become a director and even Bobby who made Power, Sardar Gabbar Singh and Jai Lava Kusa also started off a writer.

In a way, Jai Lava Kusa seems to be taken from his own life incidents where he felt the pain of not getting credited for his hard work. Well, there are many writers who are looking to make it in the big movie business but such identity robbery goes on, not many will be interested in coming up with good stories. Already, we are an industry, who are on a path of self-destruction with over budgets and one needs a good talented writer to create fresh content for people to enjoy. We need producers and directors who value the hard work and not rob it.
