The sky-rocketing ticket prices of Telugu films is one of the issues that is impacting the business of films. There is a strong criticism that makers are selling tickets at higher prices making families away from visiting the theatres. Though the producers are focusing on the early OTT release of films, no one focused on this.
Two weeks after stalling the shootings, ace producer Dil Raju said that the producers have decided to reduce the movie ticket prices and the owners of the theatres and multiplexes had been asked to bring down the ticket prices so that the movie lovers will not have any issues.
Though Dil Raju said that the ticket prices will be reduced, an upcoming film is not taking the suggestion seriously. Only in the Nizam area, the ticket prices have been fixed as per the reports and the prices according to reports say the prices are the highest for any Telugu film of late.
As per the grapevine, the ticket prices have been fixed as Rs 175 and Rs 250 for single screen and multiplex screen respectively for the Nizam area, which is one of the key regions for the film business in Telangana.
Though the official information is not out yet, the news is being spread rapidly. One wonder why the makers did not consider the suggestions made by Dil Raju on the movie ticket prices.
On the flip side, director Puri Jagannadh has a good record in the Nizam area. Few of his films like Superstar Mahesh Babu's Pokiri took the box office like a storm and struck gold. This aspect might have also encouraged the makers to go for the price hike.
It has to be seen as a daring decision as the movie lovers in the northern belt are running a campaign against Liger to boycott as Vijay Devarakonda spoke in support of Aamir Khan on the poor performance of Laal Singh Chaddha.
Vijay Devarakonda starrer Liger has locked August 25th as the release date. Liger is going to be released on a Pan-India scale and stars Ananya Pandey as the leading lady. Puri Jagannadh helmed the film besides co-producing it along with Karan Johar. Veteran actress Ramya Krishna is playing Vijay's mother in Liger.
