Raj Tarun has considerable following among the youth. His first three films have made his very recognizable. But, of late unforced errors and self goals have marred his career beyond repair. Despite getting prestigious banner like Annapurna theatre, Rangularatnam was a dud. The film failed so badly that when it was being aired on TV channels, the people are asking if this was a new film or old one. This year, he banked on two woman directors and failed badly. Last year too, he did two films and both failed miserably. All these have affected his image very badly.
Now he has 'Lover' with him. Despite being bankrolled by prestigious producer like Dil Raju, there is little buzz about the film. Even the teaser did nothing to boost the film. Unless this film becomes a hit, the producers would not rope him in. Even his next film under CK Banners is in jeopardy. If Lover fails, he this project might as well get shelved.
Despite the low budget, his films are incurring losses and the buyers are not coming forward to buy the film. Also, Lover reminds one of Nag Aswin's Lovers. There is a certain oldness to the title. If Lover fails, Raj Tarun could be left in the lurch and he could join the list of the heroes, who came, acted in a handful of films and then vanished.
