MAA Elections used to be unanimous in Dasari time: Mohan Babu

Megastar Chiranjeevi and Dialogue King Mohan Babu, two senior heroes in Tollywood have a love-hate relationship. Earlier the veteran actors have made many heads turn by making comments at each other. Now the duo is indirectly involved in the high-intense Movie Artistes' Association (MAA) elections.

While Collection King Mohan Babu's elder son Vishnu is competing for the MAA President post, veteran actor Prakash Raj is also fighting for the same. Prakash Raj is receiving support and backup from the Mega family, one of the illustrious families in Tollywood.

Mohan Babu who recently appeared in Open Heart with RK, the talk show that airs on ABN channel had made sensational comments on the MAA elections and Chiranjeevi taking the place of the Big Brother in Tollywood, the role earlier played by the late Dasari Narayana Rao.

Giving his opinion on Chiranjeevi taking the position, Mohan Babu said, he is not concerned about this. However, he said, the Big Brother position has vanished with Dasari Narayana Rao only. During Guruvu Garu's time, the elections used to be unanimous. But the situation had changed currently, he said.

When asked about making the elections unanimous, Manchu Mohan Babu said that Vishnu would have withdrawn his nomination if any member Chiranjeevi family or Allu Arvind family, or Naga Babu's family is contesting the post. Mohan Babu had expressed his confidence in Vishnu winning the elections. He assured that a dedicated building would be set up for the MAA body.

Mohan Babu added that the Coronavirus had created a loss of issues for the education sector and the film industry as well. Due to the Covid impact, the students are being promoted without exams. This might create problems for them in their higher studies, he said.

As an actor, I am concerned about the industry. We don't know when the theatres will be reopened. Everyone is talking about OTTs. The general procedure was disturbed, he maintained.

Talking about the Movie Artistes' Association (MAA) elections, two panels were finalized and Manchu Vishnu and Prakash Raj will take on each other for the elections. The two personalities have filed their nominations and are contesting for the President position.
