If the reports in circulation are to be believed, MAA TV shelled out astronomical price to acquire the Satellite Rights of magnum opus 'Baahubali'. The leading entertainment channel has bagged the rights for Rs 17.60 crore. This for the first time in TFI a film has fetched such huge amount and the credit goes completely to Rajamouli.
Earlier, There are speculations of TV Channels not interested in paying humongous sum for 'Baahubali' satellite rights as they felt such a film isn't suitable for viewing on Television. This buzz proved to be wrong by the price offered by MAA to acquire the rights of India's Biggest Motion Picture.
'Baahubali' collected a Worldwide gross of Rs 300 crore in 9 days and still counting. Even the Hindi version is performing well in the second week inspite of Salman Khan's Bajranji Bhaijaan occupying 5,300-plus screens Worldwide. The steady run of 'Baahubali' is expected to continue at least till the 3rd week.
