'Annaatthe', starring superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role, has been in the making since December 2019. The film was supposed to complete the shoot in April 2020 and the makers initially wanted to release the film for Diwali. But after the pandemic, they scheduled it to summer 2021 release.
Reportedly, the film has 40 days of shoot remaining and they planned on wrapping up the project by year-end. The makers planned to resume shooting from October 23.
Now, they called off the shoot as they are concerned about the safety of the 69-year-old superstar. The film also needs 200 crew members on the set on regular basis.
The film is being directed by Siruthai Siva with Keerthy Suresh, Meena, and Khushboo in pivotal roles.
