Akkineni family multistarer film, Manam is successfully running at the box office. The film successfully finished one week run and it has collected a share of Rs.18.55 crores at the end of its first week run worldwide.
The film is is unstoppable at overseas markets. The family drama deals with three generations minted $ 1,096,886 [Rs 6.45 crores] in USA. The Akkineni multistarrer beat Gabbar Singh and Eega collections in overseas to take 7th place in highest grossers list in the territory. Directed by Vikram Kumar, Manam is expected to take place in top 5 list in USA
According to reports, the process has already begun for bagging the Hindi remake rights of Manam and this is being done by Reliance Entertainment in association with Annapurna Studios. Amitabh Bachchan is expected to reprise the role of Akkineni Nageswara Rao.It is also being said that the remake would be titled as 'Hum' and it will go to floors very soon.
The amazing consistency of the film is surprising the critics as well. However the Telangana bandh call given by TRS yesterday had abruptly stopped the films run.
